Dr. Andrea Howard, O.D.
STEM
Dr. Andrea Howard has resided in Crestview with her husband Dr. Chris Howard for twenty-seven years. The two are optometrists, graduates of UAB School of Optometry. Andrea's undergraduate degree is in biology from Florida State University. She is a new empty nester and proud mom of Ethan and Allie, both of whom she homeschooled through high school. Her children are now attending university in the state of Alabama. Andrea still takes advantage of the grammatical supervision of her English major son and enjoys talking shop with her STEM-focused daughter.
As well as teaching her own children, Andrea has special interest and experience in math and science education within the community. She is entering her sixth year teaching at Logos Homeschool Academy in Niceville, where she has taught physical science, biology, honors chemistry, and introductory physics. She has taught chemistry virtually for a cooperative in Panama City, Florida as well as tutored various students in science and math including pre-calculus and trigonometry. Andrea enjoys working with students of all ages and abilities. She loves witnessing and celebrating all the "aha moments" that come with teaching. While meeting students where they are, she strives to make learning fun and engaging, as well as to develop eager, confident, self-directed learners. Andrea is excited about working with Rebecca and area families. She's passionate about what she does and finds teaching and tutoring to be incredibly rewarding
